Medhu Ziyaaraiy is the tomb of Abu al-Barakat Yusuf al-Barbari, the Moroccan scholar believed to have been responsible for converting the Maldives to Islam in 1153 AD. It is located in Male, just opposite the Male Friday Mosque. The shrine is a revered site and a symbol of the nation's Islamic identity.
